What is Raksha Bandhan?
Raksha Bandhan in Sanskrit means ‘the tie or knot of protection.’

Traditionally, the Raksha Bandhan festival celebrates a brother’s love for his sister as each sibling promises to protect and long for the other’s happiness and well-being. However, nowadays, the festival transcends biological ties, bringing together people from different religions, diverse ethnic groups, caste, and creed while emphasizing harmony and love. 

Over time the Raksha Bandhan festival has evolved to symbolize a deep bond between two individuals and the promise to protect and join together in unity.
